The ROLAND 700 DirectDrive is the world’s first offset press with an electronic drive on the plate cylinder. The revolutionary technology of the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive means that up to 60 per cent of make ready time can be saved. Plate change is carried out simultaneously on all printing units and at the same time as other make-ready steps. Which means that, for example, wash up of the impression and blanket cylinders, or ink feed can be realised at the same time.
Printers with short runs and a high throughput of jobs per shift will find this technology particularly relevant to them. However, it is also ideal for users of long perfectors with its eight, ten, and twelve printing units, and electronic controlled start up for repeat jobs in perfecting with different paper formats. The DirectDrive offers a number of quick change modules as standard including Automatic Plate Loading (APL), washing, and inking profiling. Industrially operating commercial and publication printers who want to successfully differentiate themselves from the competition by spending more time printing and less time making ready will find the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive is the perfect technical solution.
