Boxes Prestige Orders Two ROLAND 700 Presses

Seven Unit Plus Coater with UV Capabilities for UK and Poland.
Specialist carton producer, Boxes Prestige, has announced that it has placed an order for two high specification seven unit ROLAND 700 B1-format presses, both including dedicated coater and UV drying capabilities.
One of the machines is to be installed at the company's Earls Barton, Northamptonshire, site, whilst the second machine is destined for the Boxes Prestige Poland facility in Lublin. Both presses are equipped for fast make-ready and will be used by Boxes Prestige to produce a wide range of very high quality packaging material, including cartons for toiletries and cosmetics, confectionary, healthcare, and premium drinks.

Commenting on the order, Peter Burgess, Managing Director of Boxes Prestige, said: “We examined the market thoroughly, and conducted in-depth tests at manroland's Graphic Centre in Offenbach before deciding on this machine. We now firmly believe that the ROLAND 700 will deliver the high level of print quality demanded by our customers, and the configuration that we have decided on will ensure that we have the flexibility needed to produce the very best in printed cartons for many years to come. The new press also suits our company envi-ronmental focus. It will be running alcohol free from day one, and the configuration of the machine will help to keep waste sheets down to the minimum.”
The new press in the UK will replace an existing Mitsubishi B1 format machine, which will be transferred to one of the company's other sites. The Polish investment comes on the back of the announcement of a 50% increase in manufacturing capability at Boxes Prestige Poland.
Fast make-ready options included with the purchase of these presses include manroland's Auto Plate Loading (APL), QuickChange Colour, QuickChange Coating, QuickChange Clamps, and QuickStart Software. Mark White, Operations Director at Boxes Prestige, said: “We wanted to ensure as little downtime as possible between jobs, and manroland were able to add a series of extra features to the press to make this happen. This even included a special intercom system to allow operators at either end of the machine to talk clearly and easily to each other while the press is running. We have included manroland's ColorPilot system in the specification to aid accurate and consistent colour throughout a print run, and to ensure that we are in good colour quickly and efficiently.” The configuration also includes low ink coverage stabilisation software, and manroland's TelePresence system, ensuring fast and effective technical support using remote diagnostics and machine analysis to locate and resolve machine problem often without a technician having to travel to a customers' site.
Commenting on the order, manroland GB Sales Director for Sheetfed products, Gary Doman, said: “These presses have a first class specification for the production of first class packaging materials. We are extremely confident that this purchase will mark the continuation of a very close business relationship between Boxes Prestige and manroland that will extend for many years to come.”
