ROLAND InlineInspector

The ROLAND InlineInspector detects even the smallest flaw at full printing speed. Every printed sheet is compared with a reference sheet, and a camera installed at the last printing unit checks every sheet for flaws such as hickeys, water or oil droplets, noticeable color variations, creases or wrinkles, or substrate defects. The moment a faulty sheet is detected it is clearly indicated on a monitor and a tab inserter flags it in the delivery pile. As an alternative the faulty sheets can be diverted by the ROLAND InlineSorter. Either way this improves both production security and quality, reduces sorting costs, and avoids complaints.
Reduced substrate waste, lower allowance for spoils Substrate waste is lower because printers receive a warning as soon as something starts to go wrong. The flawed sheets can be used for setting up equipment in the finishing operations. The times when printers wasted a large amount of good sheets for setting up finishing equipment, or printed far too many allowance sheets that they couldn’t sell, are over.
Improved substrate quality The system also detects flaws in the substrate. Some customers use the ROLAND InlineInspector to detect and document substrate faults and claim compensation from the supplier. This has led to improved substrate quality.
Reduced costs for satisfying complaints The ROLAND InlineInspector ensures that the quality of the print product is perfect. Customer complaints are virtually a thing of the past. This not only increases customer loyalty but also reduces the costs involved in satisfying complaints.
